Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride Build Updates

Bates Motel Castle gets an Extreme Makover
The Bates Motel build crew have been hard at work upgrading the Hayride Castle. We have added taller parapits, longer walls and new surprises! Here you can see Joe working on the framework to strengthen the structure.
Once the framework was completed, the entire structure was shot with a rigid foam coating to help preserve it and act as a canvas for carving the blocks and bringing the castle to life
Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride to Host Livestrong Hope Ride and Challenge Run
The Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride proudly announces we will be the host of the 2011 Hope Ride and Challenge Run benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This event will take place on October 2nd, 2011 at Arasapha Farm, in Gradyville, PA. Bates Motel will be the starting line and finish line for the bike ride, with a distance of your choice. The Challenge Run will start at the entrance to our famous Haunted Corn Maze. Runners will have to navigate the huge maze, with all the scary obstacles, then run through the Haunted Hayride trail. After leaving the hayride trail, the course will take you over the rolling hills of Arasapha Farm, and past the Christmas tree stands. The run will finish back where it started, just outside the infamous Bates Motel. Food and drinks will be available along with a great picnic area where you can relax with friends and family.
The festival for National Armstrong Day will open at 10:00 AM with family games, challenges, costume contests, crafts, and other family fun activities. Contact Ashley Spurlock at spurlocka@comcast.net for more information and registration.
The Bates Motel gets a new Website!

The Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride website has been totally revamped. Our webmaster at Rogues Hollow has added imbedded video and a new menu bar that really rocks. All the new information for the 2011 season is on the site and the online ticket sales button is now turned on. Keep checking back as we will be adding more scary videos and photos from past seasons. We will also be adding a “sneak preview” page with info and photos of new sets and props that the hauntmasters at Arasapha Farm are working on this summer. Let us know how you like the new website and any suggestions for improvement that you would like to see. Check out www.thebatesmotel.com to see one of the scariest haunted attractions in the country.
